Admissions Criteria

In the event of being oversubscribed, applicants will be asked to verify their home address using a verifiable utility bill.

In the event that the school is oversubscribed, pupils of compulsory school age will be admitted according to the following criteria in priority order.

Year 1 Intake

1       Children who currently have a brother/sister, half-brother/half-sister enrolled at the school.

2       Children whose brother/sister was a former pupil of the school.  This must be stated on the application form.

3       Children of employees or Governors of the school.  This must be stated on the application form.

4       Children who have listed Pond Park Primary School as their first preference.

5       Other children.

NB:   If oversubscribed, in any of the above criteria, the following sub-criterion will be applied.

        Priority will be given to children who lived closest to the school.  Measurement will be taken using the following programme:

        Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland - Map Shop.

Duty to Verify

The Board of Governors reserves the right to require such supplementary evidence as it may determine to support or verify information on any application form.

If the requested evidence is not provided to the Board of Governors be the deadline given, this will result in the withdrawal of an offer of a place.  Similarly, if information is supplied which appears false or misleading in any material way, the offer of a place will be withdrawn.

Waiting List Policy

Should a vacancy arise after 27 April 2016, all applications for admission to Year One that were initially refused in the first instance will be given priority, followed by new applications, late applications and applications where new information has been provided, which will all be treated equally and the published criteria applied.

This waiting list will be in place until the end of the academic year.

Your child's name will be automatically added to the list.  Please contact the school if you wish for your child's name to be removed from the list.

Y2-Y7 Intake

Criteria as for Year 1, with the proviso that no class be allowed to exceed 30 pupils in number.

NB:  Parents should note that it is their responsibility to ensure that information which is relevant to the school's admissions criteria and which they wish to have taken into consideration is included by them on, or securely attached to, the application form.

The school will issue a receipt for every application received.  It is the responsibility of parents to ensure their application is on time and that they receive and keep the receipt.
