On Friday 22 March we said goodbye to two colleagues who have had a long association with Pond Park Primary School.
Mrs Jennifer Mulligan has decided to retire early, having taught Primary 1 since her arrival in 2006. Of course her association goes back further than that as she was also a past parent of the school. Mrs Mulligan served as Head of Foundation Stage for many years along with other responsibilities including the Senior Leadership Team and SENCO. Her commitment and enthusiasm to the school never wavered, nor did her love for the many new Primary 1 pupils and families she welcomed to Pond Park. We wish her a happy and healthy retirement.
Mrs McKnight was appointed to Pond Park after graduating in 1985. She initially taught P2 and after a very short break returned to her 'first love' - that of an Art Teacher. So many pupils have been taught by her and are the richer because of her expertise and skill in this curricular area. The children have loved Mrs McKnight arriving at the door with her famous trolley! The quality of the children’s work was always something she celebrated and indeed she had her own gallery of pupils’ masterpieces on the wall of her store! For years, she has painted our set for our school musicals. We will all miss Alison’s warmth, sense of humour, and commitment to Pond Park. Again we wish her well on this next chapter.
