On Tuesday 7th March, Primary 7 celebrated their annual Titanic Day in school. All pupils came to school in authentic character dress with a real mix of First Class, Third Class and Crew present.
The day started with a Titanic Day parade around the school to show all classes their costumes before moving to the hall for virtual tour of Titanic Belfast. Pupils then heard the stories of some famous passengers delivered by their P7 teachers. Break-time was a hit as pupils got to enjoy afternoon tea as it would have served on board Titanic complete with scones, meringues and biscuits.
The highlight of the day was the visit to school of ‘Spirit of the Titanic’ author Nicola Pierce who delivered a wonderful talk on the inspiration for the book, her writing process and some fascinating stories she discovered in the research for her book.
A wonderful day was had by all!
