Pond Park Primary School, Lisburn

Principal

Welcome to our website.  I hope you enjoy browsing through all that contributes to making up our school.  We are very proud of our children's achievements both inside and outside the classroom and our website gives you a taste of just how busy Pond Park is.

We also have introduced an 'in the past' section so our past pupils and achievements are not forgotten.

Pond Park Primary School opened in 1981 and in 2009 moved into a new, multi-purpose, state of the art school.

A strong emphasis is placed on Pastoral Care and that remains central in the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum. We believe that Pastoral Care is caring for the child as an individual and developing to the full the all round potential inherent in every child.

The full NI Curriculum is delivered and we encourage our pupils to achieve their best academically. The majority of our pupils progress to grammar school at the end of Primary 7.

We offer both Breakfast Club and After-School Care provision.

We also place a strong emphasis on developing the ‘whole child’, through involvement in sport, music and drama and a variety of after-school activities.

Past successes include recipients of both the Ulster Schools' Boys' and Girls’ hockey championships and winners of UTV School Choir of the Year.

Recently inspected by ETI (2015 and 2018), I leave the last word with them:

“In the areas inspected, the quality of education provided by this school is outstanding; the quality of pastoral care is also outstanding. The school has demonstrated its capacity for sustained self-improvement.”
